Primary Stress & Life at this moment

Okay, we are in the midst of practicing for our annual Primary Sacrament Meeting Presentation. We have had 2 practices so far and I think it is finally coming along. All the children are adorable and they are really trying to do their part. I know that the day of the program, we will have ministering angels with us to help the children with the singing and I know that it will be great. Right now I am just stressing because I have to keep updating the program because of new kids moving in and trying to write them a part at the last minute. But it's okay. I have had a wonderful group of friends who have helped me to do this. So many wonderful friends who are willing to be my legs and do things on the Stand that I can't really run around and do. I appreciate so much their help. I am being watched over and I know that Heavenly Father knows my needs and knows that I hate to ask for help, but somehow these people just show up and ask how they can help me. It is wonderful and I love these people for their friendship and willingness to help me as much as I need them. We have the program on the 30th of September and then my stress level will be so much better. Yahoo!!! Life will be good then. I am feeling relatively well. I can't complain too much today. I had a nice nap which I must have needed and it felt wonderful. Troy and all the kids went to visit Granny and Grandpa and I fell asleep on the bed. It was awesome. Love you all! Wendy

Birthday Cake for Mallory

We weren't able to have birthday cake for Mallory up in the Uintahs while camping so we had cake and homemade ice cream for her on Sunday the 9th. It was fun. I made Burnt Almond Fudge Ice cream (yes it was homemade) Impressive huh?

This is the "WILL YOU FORGIVE ME?" cake from Gabe because he missed the little party the day before and Mallory was a LITTLE upset with him.

More Camping Pics

We did a little "clay pigeon" shooting and the dog didn't appreciate the noise. (Croall's dog Oakley). Mallory & Gabe, Michael & Carson enjoying the beauty of the Uintahs. It really was beautiful up there.

Moose on the Loose at Camp

Well, we were all sitting around the campfire on Sunday evening and we had just finished dinner. It was starting to rain a little so I don't think we were going to sit out there much longer. While we were enjoying the warmth of the fire, I noticed a big animal in the distance. (Maybe 50 yards away, not sure exactly). Anyway, the more I looked at it and told everyone else about it, we noticed it was a hug Bull Moose. It came around some trees and was rubbing his Antlers on the tree. (I think he was a little frustrated). Well, at this point he turned and saw us at our camp. He started walking toward us and then he started running toward us. All of a sudden, everyone cleared out in a hurry to get away from this running moose who was headed toward us and he didn't look happy. I was sitting in a camp chair and it isn't easy for me to just get up and start running. So, the last thing I heard was the sweet and endearing words from Mallory saying, (as she was running as fast as she could to the trailer to save herself), "Dad, save Mom!" I was trying to hurry the best I could and not daring to look back to see where the moose was. Well, Troy slowly and nonchalantly came and helped me to the trailer like it was no big deal. (However he was impressed that I was able to move as fast as I did). He had noticed that the moose had stopped and turned around and went back into the trees. We heard another moose back there with him so it was a little frightening because I have heard that Moose can be very mean and will charge at people if they feel threatened. So, that was the big adventure for our weekend. But I will never forget the words, "Dad, Save Mom!" as Mallory and Gabe ran to the trailer saving themselves. I will NEVER let them live that down. Later, Gabe felt really bad for running into the trailer before me. He wa so fast that he ran smack into Michael with an umbrella. Michael and Carson witnessed the whold thing from the trailer. I guess now we can laugh about it. I wish I had pictures of the big moose but it all happened too fast and it was almost dark anyway. So, enjoy another episode in the life of the Hanson's. Never a dull moment. :)

Trailer Trash Seen in the Uintahs

First of all, let me just say, I was no where around when these pictures were taken. I was at Church when there was a big rain storm up at camp. Apparently my husband and Mallory and Gabe decided it would be a great time to wash up. So, as embarrassed as I am to show you these pictures, it will also give you a little laugh and a glimpes of the silliness of my sweet and demented family. Please don't love us any less because of this white trash moment. :)

Labor Day Weekend in the Uintahs.

We had fun camping with the Croall's this past weekend. The weather was nicer up there than it was down in the Salt Lake Valley. Michael and Wendy drove home Saturday night because we had Church responsibilities and we just needed to be there. (Michael is the Missionary Prep teacher and loving it). We went back up to the camp right after church was out and Michael brought up his girlfriend Carson with us.

Mallory's Birthday while camping in the Uintah's

We arrived to our camping spot on Friday night and it was late and we were tired so as soon as Troy got the trailer level and cleaned out, we all went to bed. It was a miracle that we were able to sleep so many of us in the trailer. Wow, my family has grown-up. We used to fit in it so well. Anyway, the next day was September 1st and Mallory's 19th birthday! She didn't want to wait to open her presents so as soon as breakfast was over she opened her presents. I think she was very happy with her gifts. (Eric I still need to give you a check, I won't forget). It was a good day for Mallory. She spent it with her Boyfriend Gabe and they went 4 wheeling a lot and just enjoyed the day. We love you Mallory and hope it was a nice day for you. Sorry we go camping every year on your birthday.

Bear Lake Family Weekend and Brown Reunion Weekend

Okay, we had a great time at Bear Lake this year. We wish that more family could have come but we still had a good time anyway. We aren't sure if we are going to do it next year because of the lack of interest this year. So might change it to every other year. We'll see. Anyway, the weather was pretty good. It wasn't too hot up there and the we all had fun on the boat and jet ski's. I am a little paranoid about being in the sun too much so Lorna, Annette and I sat under an umbrella that Jeremy and Brooke brought. Lorna held little Boston while he slept so that Jeremy and Brooke could enjoy the water. It was fun. I wish I would have taken more pictures but Mallory had my camera on the boat most of the time. I need to thank Gary for washing the windows on the outside of the cabin. It really made a big difference. Also for cleaning up under the kitchen sink after he fixed the clogged drain. You are the man and I owe you a yummy Caramel Apple. Thanks to Whitney and Katie for the Jet Ski's which were awesome. Michael brought up two of his friends Blake Tracy and Morgan Mower. They were going nuts because they didn't have cell phone service at Bear Lake and they weren't able to call their girlfriends. It was getting beyond ridiculous but as far as verizon goes, they weren't backing up those boys that weekend. They were a little dissappointed. So they used mine and Michael's phones to talk to their girlfriends at least 6 or 7 times a day. Mallory brought her boyfriend Gabe, (they have been going out for a couple of months.) We all had a good time and I appreciate the help with cleaning the cabin before we went home. It was so great to get away from home not have to worry about anything. I needed it because the next few weeks I am totally working on our Primary Sacrament Meeting Presentation that we are having on the 30th of this month. Wahoo! I'll be one happy woman to have that done and overwith. AT the Brown family reunion, Michael brought up his new girlfriend who he had known only 5 days at the time. She is a sweet young woman and a lot of fun. She can also put Michael in his place. It's great! So, I hope you enjoy the pictures we took of our weekends at Bear Lake. Unfortunately they are all of Mallory and Michael and their significant others. I love you all and I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family. Be Happy!

MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY

Okay, I have been thinking alot about life and the things that we each have to go through. I have had Troy's cousin Bryce Brown on my mind alot. He is 33 years old and is fighting for his life. His body is full of cancer due to melanoma that he thought was taken care of about 7 years ago. He was told that they were able to cut it all out of him and he was going to be fine. Then about a month ago he started having trouble breathing and was fighting constant fatigue. He and his wife have a 7 month old baby girl who is absolutely adorable. Her name is Danika and they call her Dani. Bryce's wife (Tammy) has been keeping am online journal of this whole experience that Bryce has been going through. I am so amazed at her strength and determination to help Bryce fight for his life. I wake up every morning without many worries and grateful for my healthy family. I know that at any minute things can change. Who knows what Heavenly Father's plan is for us. I just want my family to know how much I love them and to please do all you can to keep yourselves healthy. I am going to be a crazy mother who is going to insist on putting sunblock on my children. Yes, even the older ones who are adults (at least they are legally, but don't always act like it). I know that we have to be proactive in trying to prevent any kind of skin cancer. Losing Jennifer has really affected me and I know that she shouldn't have died. This could have been prevented. We all need to be educated and know that this can happen to us. We need to know what to look for and my dermatologist said the syblings of Jennifer should be checked yearly for signs of skin cancer. Michael just had a mole scraped off his leg because it looked questionable. We haven't received the results from the biopsy yet but we are hopeful it will be negative. I love all of you so much and I want you all to live a very, very long time. So, just put up with me. If you want to see Bryce Brown's web page, you can go to brycedbrown.com and read Tammy's journal and see beautiful pictures of their sweet family. It will make you feel grateful for your blessings. Love ya lots, Wendy

Miracle in Evanston, WY

I forgot to mention this but I think that is worth noting. As we all left Sandy for Bear Lake, I called all the kids and reminded them to say a prayer for a safe trip. We also did the same in our car. Well, when Mallory, Whitney & Katie got to Evanston, they decided they were going to stop at Wendy's and grabe something to eat. Well, there was a HUGE pot hole that they hit. (They were towing the jet ski's). The jetski trailer immediately got a flat tire and there was no spare. So, Michael's car got there to see what they could do, and then Troy and I got there to see if we could help. Well, of course we have triple A but we have the basic and so that meant the trailer wasn't covered. Wouldn't you know it. Anyway, they tried to pump up the tired because it looked like it had just come off the rim. Well, that wasn't working. So we were right next to Super Wal-Mart so Whitney and Katie decided to walk over there and see what they could find. Hoping the tire center was open and they could find a spare. And on the way they said a little prayer. Meanwhile, Troy and Michael pulled the tire off and the rim was ruined. There was no way it could be fixed. They needed a new tire. Troy was considering just staying overnight in Evanston and sleeping in the truck and getting up early and get a new tire. Meanwhile, Michael took the ruined tire over to Wal-Mart to meet Whitney and a few minutes later, they came back with a spare tire that was the exact size we needed. Whitney said they walked over to the tire department and they were closed, but on a shelf was a single tire already pumped up and it was the exact tire we needed. So, I know that we were being watched over that night. It did cost $50.00 dollars but I think it was worth it not having to spend the night in Evanston and getting us all to Bear Lake together. So, the moral of this story is, always pray that we will always be watched over and have faith in that prayer. And remember that these blessings only come from our Heavenly Father. We know it wasn't just a coincidence. We also had 3 recently returned missionaries with us and maybe that was a bonus. We know Heavenly Father loves his missionaries. So, I thought I would share that with you. Whitney has a cute picture of everyone sitting beside the new tire on the trailer. It's cute.

Bear Lake Weekend 2007

I wish I had pictures but I don't. Mallory had my camera on the boat the whole time and didn't take one picture while they were on the boat. (Thanks Mallory!). Anyway, we had a great time. We were sorry that not many family members were able to come this year. The weather wasn't too bad either. Friday was perfect. We didn't have any rain and the kids loved playing in the boat and sea doo's. (Whitney's friend had 2 Sea Doos and they were awesome). The weather on Saturday was a little questionable. It was cloudy a lot of the day with a few windows of sunshine. So of course the kids took full advantage of those windows of opportunity. Brooke and Jeremy brought their tube "Big Mable" and it was a favorite. It took a while to blow that thing up but it was worth it. Lorna, Annette and I didn't really get in the water. I am a little worried about Melanoma and I made my kids lather themselves with sunblock. So we sat under an umbrella that the Moon's brought and watched the kids have fun. Little Boston was just a perfect baby up there. He never cried. And of course his Nannie spoiled him the whole weekend. She reminded me that was the best part of her life now. The grandkids. Well, I can wait. Anyway, if anyone took pictures and would like to add them to my blog that would be appreciated because I don't have any. Troy, Whitney and her friend Katie left late Saturday night. Troy needed to be at Church on Sunday so we missed him because he was driving home during a HUGE thunder & lightening storm. But they arrived home unscathed. Well, it was nice and we made some memories and we also prayed for those who weren't able to be with us. We hope you are all doing good. Love ya! Wendy
